Montreal Gazette – Driven by love, family caregivers ‘pushing past the point of burnout’

Esther Buchsbaum raised her daughter, Morgan, on her own. As Esther had been, Morgan was an only child: It was just the two of them. So connected were they that those who knew them would note how it wasn’t always clear where one ended and the other began.

At the age of 25, Morgan’s life was turned upside down when Esther, was diagnosed with a lethal form of brain cancer. Morgan put her life on hold to care for her mother for 16 months, until she passed in May 2021.
