Canadian Caregivers Advisory Network

Caregivers across Canada need more support and better policy solutions. The Canadian Caregivers Advisory Network (or Caregivers CAN) brings together caregivers nationwide to build and advocate for a better future for caregivers.

What we strive for: Collective action for positive change

CCCE and members of Caregivers CAN have strongly aligned visions and goals: we share a focus on supporting caregivers using lived experience to guide, educate, and propel our care movement forward.

Who we are: Caregiver led

With a membership from coast to coast to coast, Caregivers CAN helps shape and support CCCE projects and priorities through collective co-design.

Caregivers CAN is co-chaired by two members of the group for a two-year term. The co-leads work together to facilitate quarterly meetings, represent the interests of the group to the wider CCCE team and define annual priorities and projects.

What we do: Caregivers CAN responsibilities

Members of Caregivers CAN are invited to participate in four meetings a year, where they hear about CCCE projects and priorities, and can provide input into various initiatives.

Since its inception in May 2022, Caregivers CAN members have also had the opportunity to join CCCE-led sub-committees to help guide our work. Examples include:

1.      Caregiver Aware marketing campaign committee

2.      Canadian Caregiving Summit Planning Committee

3.      National Care Champions Table

4.      Caregivers CAN web page redevelopment

Members may also be asked to participate in various speaking engagements, including panel discussions and media interviews upon request. Additional opportunities, such as participating in research studies, media and advocacy training are also offered to members.
