Grant Application Process
We maintain a thorough process for review and monitoring for all our grants, small or large. While our practice for granting is primarily proactive we do review unsolicited approaches that fit within the our focus areas. If you believe your organization qualifies, you may register on our online portal to explore your eligibility.
For questions about the grantee portal, contact [email protected]
- We can only provide grants to Canadian qualified donees as defined by the Canada Revenue Agency
- Grants will only be provided to projects that fit within one or more of our strategic priority areas

- The Azrieli Foundation is strictly apolitical. As a registered charity, we do not engage in or fund any partisan political activities
Organizations can apply for a grant at any time prior to the start of the event or project. Depending on the scope and nature of your request, it may take several weeks to complete a proposal that is acceptable to the Foundation. Please apply well in advance of the event, project or program start date. For Grants that will be reviewed by the Foundation Board, all final material must be received no later than 4 weeks before the Board meeting.
Grants under CAD $100,000 are reviewed by staff on a regular basis with the final funding decision made by the CEO. Applicants will be notified of the funding decision within 6 to 8 weeks after submitting a request.
Grants above CAD $100,000 are reviewed by the Foundation’s Board of Directors which meets several times a year. Applicants will be notified of the funding decision in the week following the Board meeting at which their request was reviewed.
2021 Board meetings dates:
- End of January
- Mid-March
- Early June
- Mid-September
- Mid-November
The size of the grants awarded by the Azrieli Foundation depends on the project. We endeavour to make funding decisions that are appropriate for the type of project, its intended impact and the capacity of the funded organization to carry out its activities.
