Fostering Family Caregiver Resilience: Moving Beyond Telling Family Caregivers to “Take Care of Yourself”

Resilience is “the capacity to adapt successfully when faced with adversity.” A socio-ecological model of resilience will address the emotional, informational, and instrumental needs of family caregivers and will assist in adapting to the demands of their caregiving role. This webinar aims to answer the questions, “What should a better system to support family caregivers include?” and “Who needs to be involved?”

  • Liv Mendelsohn, executive director, Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence
  • Nancy Mannix, Chair, Palix Foundation
  • Dr. Kerry Kuluski PhD, Dr. Mathias Gysler Research Chair in Patient & Family Centered Care, Institute for Better Health, Trillium Health Partners
