2nd Annual North American Conference on Integrated Care

October 16, 2024
11:30 am – 1:00 pm EDT

The 2nd Annual North American Conference on Integrated Care brings together leaders, researchers, clinicians, managers, community representatives, patients and caregivers from around the world who are engaged in the design and delivery of integrated health and care. We’re pleased to be supporting this year’s conference, where the theme is ‘Creating Health with Integrated Care.’ CCCE’s executive director Liv Mendelsohn will be speaking at a session on caregiving on the second day.

Family Caregivers as Care Integrators

Family caregivers are the backbone of our care systems, providing nearly 90% of care for individuals living in the community and assisting with 15-35% of care in long-term care settings. As these caregivers take on increasingly complex roles as system navigators and care coordinators, the emotional and physical demands of caregiving continue to rise, leading to alarming rates of burnout.

During the session, we will explore innovative solutions to ensure family caregivers can continue their vital work while protecting their own health and well-being.

Speakers:

Dr. Vivian Ewa, Alberta Health Services
Lauren Roy, Alberta Health
Liv Mendelsohn, CCCE
Linda Powell and her husband, Dr. Greg Powell
Sharon Anderson, University of Alberta
