Wellness Programs

Mental health and wellness support is essential for care providers, both on and off the job. We aim to help care providers find opportunities to rest and care of themselves; in turn, they can continue to provide safe and effective care to those in need.

Mindfulness for Developmental Services Care Providers

CAMH and Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre logo

As part of our commitment to support the health and wellness of care providers in Canada, the Canadian Centre for Caregiving Excellence is working with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre, the Provincial Network on Developmental Services, the Cultivating Community Wellness initiative and Queen’s University to offer a six-week mindfulness program for professionals in the developmental services sector.

The programs are led by Sue Hutton, a mindfulness teacher with over 30 years of experience. The weekly sessions are designed for participants to learn and practice mindfulness skills to reduce stress and improve their quality of life.

Recognizing the differences in the experiences of leaders and developmental services care providers, two independent programs are offered through this initiative.
